Inspired by the work of the great cheesecake artists like Gil Elvgren and Petty, Terence Mendoza has been refining his style of retro and burlesque imagery for the past year or two. With his shooting and retouching techniques, he attempts recreate their style of artistry with a modern spin. He finds the slightly risque images from the forties and fifties were charming, seductive and sexy, yet classy and stylish.
His studio storeroom is a veritable Aladdin's cave of retro and vintage props. His work has appeared in various magazines and he has worked with various retro and vintage lingerie companies, and is always interested to hear from others - and for that matter any models interested in being immortalised in this way!
